My Bucket List

I never really thought about a bucket list. Since I am way past my familial half-life, I figure I better get it written down! Which was a lot harder than I thought.

Before I die I would like to accomplish the following things:

1. An African Safari
2. To hike the Knife's Edge
3. To sleep through the night (yeah, I know seems lame but true)
4. To go across the country, visiting every State.
5. To find the end of the rainbow (see, it's probably in my dreams)
6. To travel to Italy
7. To figure out how to meditate. Seriously, you should see me in a yoga class!
8. To have Dana, Kristi and Kate over for a glass of meet in person wine.

9. To figure out a way for Joy to join us or go to Germany for one of her cocktails
10. Understand why Honey Boo Boo, the Kardashians and Candy freaking Crush are so popular.
11. Meet Kerry for fried clams
12. To visit Bron in Australia. Okay, I really want to visit Australia but I think Bron and her family would be awesome tour guides.
13. To Sail in the Caribbean, for at least a year.
14. To find that Runner's High

I feel the need to apologize as my list is so greedy and not spread peace, joy and happiness. But oh well, can't be perfect all the time!

So what is on your bucket list?

  1. I love your list and I think we are allowed to be a bit greedy even if it is just in our dreams, but seriously so with you on a few of these myself, especially the sleep thing. My girls do sleep through the night for the most part, but now it is me still waking. Oh well maybe someday!! Thanks so much as always for linking up with us :)

    1. Exactly! Why is it when they do sleep, I am up at 4am? I think they trained me and not the other way around.

  2. Great list! #3 is so important. And I must admit I love Candy Crush, LOL. Wonderful travel destinations, too. And can I just say, I love that you were okay having a list of 14 items. I always feel compelled to have list items in multiples of fives.... maybe I should have added working on that to my list... but then I would have 6, and that's not okay. :)

  3. Ooh, a safari would be a great one to add to my list! I'd come back with a bazillion photos and just as many bug bites. Had to Google the knife's edge - got tired just thinking about the hike LOL. If you make it to the end of the rainbow, I'd be really curious to know if you really find a pot of gold there! :)

  4. Sounds like a great list. Let me know when you do your grand tour of the US - I'm racking up a number of states I apparently 'need' to visit :)

  5. Familial half-life- ha! Love that expression... and I would definitely sail the Caribbean for a year. Surely it would only take a week or so to get my motion sickness under control, right?

    1. Thanks, Stephanie. I am sure we can keep the alcohol at an even level to counter the seasickness.

  11. I hope you don't mean another Dana, because I will just embarrass myself. But I would LOVE to meet you in person too. I'm happy to travel, and Kristi and I are only about an hour apart...

    1. Of course I meant you :)

Don't you think it would be the coolest evening!

  12. Well of course my very favorite is number 8, but I want you to combine 9 and 11 so we can all drink and eat clams (except Kerry isn't old enough to drink...oh...wait...neither was I when I was her age, but she's probably a way better person than I was then). Also, if I could wave a magic wand and give you any of these? It would be number 3. Because you need it and deserve it. I also have faith that you'll one day get that one. And many of the others.

  13. I would love to meet you for fried clams -- YES! Awesome bucket list!

P.S. I'm going to be in your town for the weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday! I will be thinking of you! :)

  14. I went weak when I saw you want to hike Knife's Edge. We went to Maine for our 10th anniversary, and we saw Knife's Edge from a great hiking (but much safer) trail. You do know people have died on that thing?!?!

I want to do what my blog friend, Pat, did. She and her husband sold everything, bought an RV, and spent 7 years traveling the US. They found all sorts of awesome places. Only thing I'd change is the living arrangements. I don't think I want to travel/live in an RV.

    #10 cracked me up.

    1. We have made it to the top of Katahdin a bunch of times, but never over the edge. I think the RV thing is such a cool idea. Except by the 5th state I might rethink it.

  15. Okay, now you've got me wondering about the Knife's Edge. I've never heard of it, so instead of going to bed as I should, I'm going to be googling the damn thing to see all about it. lol When you guys get done with your wine, my wife says to come on over and we'll throw a real party! No, I will not allow charades to be played, so forget it! Now, go get some sleep ... hopefully, all night long! :) Good post!

  16. Are you crazy????? An 1800 foot vertical drop on both sides!!! Okay, I'm a little extreme, but this is ridiculous! Time to change one of your items, my dear! lol
